My local backup of 700GB runs for 7-8 hours each time. The log summary each time looks pretty much the same:
[Files considered for backup: 128411]
[Files already present in your device: 126413]
[Files backed up now: 1997, Size: 171.47 GB]
Many, if not most of the 1997 files are pictures that I know 100% for sure have not changed. It does seem to also back up some key files I know have changed inbetween
For the files backed up I see its always a full backup. iDrive support also told me that " IDrive local backups are always a Full Backup and online cloud backups are incremental after the first time full backup"
This combination of information has left me confused (and disappointed they do not do incremental backups locally...).
1. What does iDrive mean by ' full backup '? If its a complete full backup, why does it only back up 15% of my files?
2. If they mean ' full backup ' at the file level then under what condition are the files selected? I would expect only files that have changed, but my logs show those, plus another 95% that have not changed, are being backed up.
3. Is versioning supported. Checking using Restore, it appears not.
4. Can an online and local back up run at the same time. I think not, but it seems iDrive support told someone else that this was possible.
Thank you
